133.9° Wide Angle
SNAP-G is here to make capturing vast, clear, and sharp visuals a breeze. Don’t miss anyone or anything with our 133.9° wide-angle feature!
You can choose between Narrow, Linear, and Wide angles to capture the whole picture.

Personally, I am using the Thinkware Snap-G Action Camera (I’d call it an Intigrated Gimbal Video Camera since “Action Camera” sounds like a non-gimbald GoPro) for family events such as birthdays, holidays, a day around the pool, etc., where extreme zooming is not required (Snap-G has 4x optical zoom).
.
I can use my Nikon Fx or Dx DLSR bodies on a gimbal for serious work, my 4K video camera with 20x optical zoom lens for the grandkids sports events, the Thinkware Snap G for family events, and my smartphone (sometimes with a gimbal) when I don’t have the other devices handy.
.
Pros
-Stand alone gimbal video recording (does not require use of phone app) instead of using a smartphone in a larger gimbal form factor, with limited access to communications while also running down the smartphone’s battery while shooting video.
-Large 2 inch screen which is larger than most brands.
-The micro SD and USB-C port area area covered, unlike some other brands.
-Removable battey allows the user to carry spares, recommended having spares! Most competitors do not have a removable battery.
-Zoom works in both regular and selfie modes (allows user to zoom in a bit to reduce the fisheye effect as a result of wide angle lens), or the user can correct this in post processing.
-4x optical zoom, good for casual videos.
-There is an SNV (Super Night Vision) mode which is set at 15 FPS to capture more light in low light situations (works best with stationary or slow moving subjects) without the typical green cast associated with night vision use.
.
Cons
-When creating user video profiles (saves options for HD format, frame rate, etc.,) it is not real clear that AI and face tracking are NOT available at 4K 60FPS (but they work at 4K 30FPS and most 2K, 1080 settings).
-Micro SD card slot is a bit too close to the inner wall of the recessed card area, making it difficult to remove.
-Small sensor affects low light recording, introduces noise.
.
Recommendations
-Use a small cold shoe arm with rechargeable light(s) to improve low light conditions.
-Use an external mic for better sound recording.
.
As with photography, videography requires accessories to improve results.
